Monkey (aka Rick) offers wedding invitation design services for all your alternative wedding needs. While he is quite capable of designing more classic invitations, if you're looking for something more non-traditional (zombie or pirate-themed invitations are especially welcome) Monkey will shine.

Monkey also offers consulting services on an hourly basis in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is more than happy to help you with etiquette, timing, budgeting, and helping you find the right wedding invitation for you. With knowledge of many fine stationers and invitation vendors both online and off and a knowledge of DIY options, Rick would be happy to meet you for an hour or two at your home, office, or any public space.

Additionally, Rick would be happy to help you with hands-on instruction in most DIY invitations. He can help you get quotes from printers, show you tricks and techniques on assembling invites, and teach you all you need to know to get fabulous hand-made wedding invitations. Known for his amazing customer service and knowledge of the wedding invitation industry, Rick has worked with couples to find their perfect wedding invitations with budgets ranging from $100 to $6000. He has worked with over 15 couture invitation designers and was one of the first Invitation Coordinators for Paper Source and was there for the early days of Minted.com.

He likes cookies, zombies, multi-color letterpress designs, and making people smile. Rates start at $35/hr and are waived if you end up purchasing your invitations through Monkey + Seal.

The custom invitation process:

We'll first set up a meeting to go over all the ideas you have. Bring color swatches, themes, photos, linen, materials, anything to give Monkey a clear idea of what you're looking for. The more your have, the better. At this meeting, Monkey will give his suggestions and try to flush out some strong ideas for invitations along with general pricing for each option. If we can't set up a meeting time due to scheduling conflicts or location (he is pretty much limited to San Francisco) we'll be happy to go over this via email or on the phone.

If you like what Monkey has to offer, he will work up 4-6 different concepts (or versions of a concept). At this time a deposit is due consisting of 50% of the final quote

You can select 2 concepts to be taken to the proof stage. You will then receive both proofs. After selecting a proof to finalize, you then will receive a revised proof to approve.

After the final proof is approved, the remainder of the fee is due and your invitations will go into production (or if you'd like to print them yourself, digital files will be delivered via email).
